The Village of Bensenville’s annual Fourth of July Parade and LibertyFest event were full of family fun, music, food, and fireworks.
Bensenville residents and neighbors started the day gathering along the parade route, which started in downtown Bensenville and ended at Redmond Recreational Complex.
Don Schultz, EMA coordinator, served at this year’s Grand Marshall for the parade. He has over 50 years with Bensenville Emergency Management, and the village thanks him for his service to the community.
The parade also included the Jessie White Tumbling Team, the Fenton High School Marching Band, Bensenville taxing bodies, local businesses, churches and community groups, DuPage County elected officials, and many others.
After a weather delay, celebrations continued in the evening at Redmond Recreational Complex with live music by ARRA, food and drink vendors, and an exciting fireworks display.
“The Fourth of July Parade and LibertyFest is just one of Bensenville’s favorite events and annual traditions, bringing neighbors, families, and friends together to celebrate our nation and community,” said Village President Frank DeSimone. “Thank you to everyone who participated in the parade, attended LibertyFest, and helped make this year’s celebration a memorable and safe event for all.
“We are especially grateful to our volunteers, sponsors such as Bridgeway, Just In Time Staffing, and Grand Subaru, our first responders, and village staff whose hard work makes these events possible.”
