Table tennis enthusiasts, recreational competitors and anyone looking for a fun challenge are invited to register for the Bensenville Park District's first-ever Ping Pong Tournament on Thursday, June 25, at the Deer Grove Leisure Center, 1000 W. Wood St.
The tournament will take place from 8 a.m. to noon and is open to amateur players ages 18 and older. Registration is $15 per player.
Participants will have the opportunity to serve, spin and smash their way through a morning of friendly competition while vying for a trophy and ultimate bragging rights as the Bensenville Park District's inaugural ping pong champion.
Whether players are seasoned table tennis competitors or simply enjoy a spirited game with friends, the event promises an exciting and social atmosphere where participants can showcase their skills, meet fellow players and enjoy a lively community competition.
"This tournament is a great opportunity for adults to have fun, challenge themselves and connect with others through a sport that is easy to learn and exciting to play," Recreation Supervisor Ty Beshiri said. "We're looking forward to seeing some friendly competition, great sportsmanship and plenty of memorable rallies as we crown our first park district champion."
Advance registration is required. Interested participants can sign up at the Deer Grove Leisure Center.
Need practice? The park district offers ping pong drop-in sessions from 6:30-9 a.m. Mondays through Fridays. Purchase a monthly membership for $8 or opt for a daily drop-in fee of $1.
