Bensenville Public Works reinforces commitment to workplace safety during annual Safety Day

Posted

Every year, the Bensenville Public Works Department holds Safety Day to reinforce the importance of safe practices and workplace safety. This year’s event provided an opportunity for employees to strengthen their safety knowledge, learn from one another and reaffirm their commitment to keeping themselves and their coworkers safe.

Throughout the day, employees were engaged, communicative and actively participated as a team, making Safety Day a tremendous success. Building a culture of open communication and teamwork is essential to ensuring everyone returns home safely each day while continuing to provide the vital services Bensenville residents depend on.

Safety Day goes beyond simply teaching employees how to work safely. It keeps safety at the forefront through hands-on training with specialized equipment, discussions about best practices and opportunities to engage with coworkers.

Employees also participated in a Human Graph exercise, responding to safety-related questions by positioning themselves along a spectrum from strongly agree to strongly disagree. The activity encouraged discussion, team building and open communication while helping identify inefficiencies and potential hazards before they become safety concerns.

“Safety Day is a great reinforcement and learning opportunity for our team at Public Works to stay safe and continue to provide Bensenville with their vital work,” said Village President Frank DeSimone. “Every day there are new challenges and dangers that come with them, but these Safety Days are necessary to make sure our Public Works team continues to prioritize safety.”

Safety Day remains an important part of the Bensenville Public Works Department’s commitment to maintaining a strong and safe work environment. Through hands-on training, open discussion and team-building activities, employees strengthened their knowledge and reinforced the importance of looking out for one another.

The success of Safety Day reflects the department’s ongoing commitment to putting safety first while delivering the essential services Bensenville residents deserve.
