The Bensenville Park District is inviting adults to scoop up some summertime fun during its Young at Heart Ice Cream Social from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday, July 17, in the Oak Room at the Deer Grove Leisure Center, 1000 W. Wood St.
Held in celebration of National Ice Cream Day, the event offers guests the chance to create their own delicious ice cream sundaes with an assortment of toppings or enjoy a favorite classic flavor while spending a relaxing afternoon with friends.
Designed to bring the community together for laughter, conversation and a sweet summertime tradition in a welcoming atmosphere, the social is among the most popular activities among the park district’s active adults.
"This is a wonderful opportunity to get together, cool off and enjoy a favorite summer treat while making new memories with friends," said Nicole Branscum, who oversees the program. "Whether someone loves piling on the toppings or prefers a classic scoop of ice cream, everyone is sure to leave with a smile."
The event is open to ages 21 and older. The fee is $10 or $8 for in-district patrons. Advance registration is required by July 10. For more information or to register, visit the Deer Grove Leisure Center or call 630-766-7015.
