Fitness Dayz offer free workouts this summer

Posted

The Bensenville Park District invites the community to get moving this summer with its Fitness Dayz series, a lineup of free, high-energy outdoor workouts designed for participants of all fitness levels.

Held at scenic parks and community spaces throughout the season, Fitness Dayz offers a fun and accessible way for ages 14 and older to improve strength, endurance and overall wellness while enjoying the outdoors.

The Fitness Dayz schedule kicks off from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, June 13, at Sunrise Park, where participants can take part in a dynamic Outdoor Aerobics session featuring rhythmic movement, cardio exercises and strength training set to upbeat music. The program continues with Yoga at the Farm from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, July 18, at Fischer Farm, providing a unique opportunity to work out in a natural, wooded setting.

The series wraps up with an expanded Fitness Dayz event from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 15, at Varble Park’s Kiwanis Shelter. This special Boot Camp and Veterans Brunch session includes a full-body boot camp workout incorporating strength, balance, core, speed and agility training from 9 to 10 a.m., followed by a Healthy Minds Healthy Bodies potluck brunch, where veterans are especially encouraged to stay and connect with the community. Veterans are instructed to pre-register for the brunch at NEDSRA (NEDSRA.org).

All Fitness Dayz events are free and open to the public, with modifications available to accommodate beginners through seasoned fitness enthusiasts. Participants are encouraged to bring water and come ready to move at their own pace in a welcoming, supportive environment.

Registration is not required for workouts. For more information on Fitness Dayz and other summer programs, visit the Bensenville Park District website or follow the district on social media for updates.
