Celebration takes place on June 28 at Knolls Park in Lombard

York Township is inviting residents from across the community to come together for an afternoon of music, family fun, food, and hometown spirit at the America250 Benefit for the York Township Food Pantry on Sunday, June 28.

The event will take place from noon to 7 p.m. at Knolls Park, 1502 S. Meyers Road, Lombard.

The community-wide celebration will commemorate America’s 250th birthday by bringing together neighbors, local leaders, businesses, and families from throughout York Township—all while raising funds to support residents in need through the York Township Food Pantry.

The event will feature live entertainment throughout the day, including performances by York Township Trustee Al Rago’s band Ripped Covers, Oakbrook Terrace Mayor Paul Esposito’s band Full Volume, and Chicago-area favorite 7th Heaven, which will close out the evening.

Festivalgoers can also enjoy a variety of food trucks, local craft and vendor booths, and a large Family Fun Area featuring a magician, face painting, bounce castles, pictures with a princess, and activities for children of all ages.

One of the newest additions to this year’s event is already creating excitement throughout the township—a dunk tank featuring local elected officials. Residents will have the opportunity to dunk mayors, village presidents, aldermen, and other community leaders, all in the name of supporting the township food pantry.

“This event is about community in every sense of the word,” said York Township Supervisor Timothy Murray. “As America celebrates 250 years, we wanted to create something that brings

people together, celebrates local pride, and helps neighbors who may be struggling. Every dollar raised helps support families right here in our township.”

Residents of all ages are encouraged to attend and be part of a day focused on community, celebration, and giving back.
